The "Almighty God" South Korean collective dormitory caught fire and almost caused a fire
South Korean website Religion & Truth reported on November 16 that on November 14, a fire broke out in the collective dormitory of the "Almighty God" cult in Jitang-ri, outside the mountain of Baoeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, in central South Korea, and the cause was "negligent management of firewood boilers."

The land was registered and purchased by Almighty God in the name of the "Gurant" agricultural corporation, and was actually used as a working place and dormitory for the faithful. There are five buildings of various sizes, all of which are constructed of prefabricated panel materials.
The fire started in a dormitory building where believers lived, and the fire spread from the kitchen. Since believers use wood-fired boilers, the kitchen is piled up with firewood.
Fortunately, the neighbors found out about the fire and called the police on 119 in time. At the same time, they shouted loudly, trying to inform the believers in the opposite building. Once the fire spreads, it is likely to cause serious casualties. The accident is believed to be related to the weak safety awareness of believers.

The next day, black smoke remained at the scene of the fire. A neighbor who witnessed it and called the police said: "Buildings made of prefabricated panels will all burn down less than 30 minutes after the fire, and the toxic gases released by the combustion can even be life-threatening." I don't know if they have insurance, but the safety here is a real concern. ”
Another resident said: "If there are oil drums around, the consequences are unimaginable. It was very windy, and the person in charge here often changed around, and yesterday I saw a new face. ”
The resident also mentioned: "They are always burning things, black smoke is constantly coming out. Once I went over to look and found that they were burning wallpaper. I reminded them that they can't just burn things here, otherwise it will cause environmental pollution. ”
On November 14, after witnesses called the police, the 119 fire station sent four fire engines and police cars to the scene, and then local civil servants also rushed to assist.
Residents said that there were a large number of unregistered foreigners living in the neighborhood and that they were afraid that something might happen. There are also difficulties in communicating with these people due to the language barrier. They also mentioned: "Because their living habits are different from ours, the cleaning and management around the house is not in place. He added: "Even if the environment is dirty and messy with fallen leaves and weeds, no one comes to clean it up, which causes us a lot of inconvenience." Not only that, but the residents said angrily: "For many years, we have asked Almighty God to build a fence because of the noise of car repair, mechanical noise, and the sound of singing, but it has not been resolved." ”
